3. Insert the indicator into the chain gap, ensuring no measurement errors.

4. Fully insert both ends of the needle into the chain.

5. Move the indicator to check the wear condition. (Note: Reset the value before inserting into the chain). A value of 0.25-0.50 indicates a good chain condition, while a value >0.75 requires immediate chain replacement.
